Title: Caring New York City Tutor - $20/hr
Location: New York
Content: I am a MA graduate of Teachers College at Columbia University with meaningful classroom and tutoring experience.
I try to get my students to do lots of talking and I catch and correct nearly every mistake made. :)
Students and I decide on news links or articles online and we either discuss these articles or go through them together to work on pronunciation and to pick up new vocabulary words and to chat or argue about issues. We also sometimes work with the book I wrote (New York City Sucks but You'll Wanna Come Here Anyway). I give my students free copies of the book via pdf file and it helps as a vocabulary booster.
My English blog: http://convostartersenglish.blogspot.com/
TOEFL and IELTS:
I have my own TOEFL blog - search for: http://danstoefl.blogspot.com/ My students make remarkable progress. I once had a student who jumped 12 points on his overall score. I also have experience with the IELTS.
Fees - I may have the best credentials of any English tutor in the city, and, to be kind and ethical, I keep my fees affordable.
$20 per hr. or 3 hours in a row for $50.
I ask that we meet for at least 2 hours at a time.
Unfortunately, there are no exceptions to this rule.
I usually meet students at a public space around 3rd ave and 53rd in Manhattan or around 28th street and 5th avenue.
Near Queens College in Flushing
If and only if you know of a better place where there will be lots of privacy, I will consider meeting you there.
Thank you - I really hope I can help you.
I also write about art professionally. Read my art reviews here: wsimag.com/authors/449-daniel-gauss
